The rehearsal for the first time was conducted at the actual locations where the royal cremation ceremony of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani will take place.
The Assistant to the Royal Thai Army Commander-in-Chief, Gen Viroj Buajaroon, presided over the rehearsal. Permanent secretaries from different ministries and state officials also joined this event.
During the procession, a replica of the funeral urn at the Grand Palace was brought to the royal crematorium at Sanam Luang via a royal chariot.
As a result, roads surrounding the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang are closed temporarily from October 12 to 19, 2008.
The royal cremation ceremony will be carried out between November 14 and 19, 2008. Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani's remains will be cremated on November 15, 2008.
